The short version
- We collect what Oh Jelly needs to work: your sign-in details, the photos you scan, and your shelf.
- Everyone who uses the app shares usage data with us: which screens you open and what you do there. It helps us find what’s confusing and fix what breaks. There’s no setting to turn it off.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads, or use ad trackers.
- Photos go to our AI providers only so we can name the plush.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, at any time.

Who we are
Oh Jelly is an app for plush collectors on iPhone, Android and the web, together with this website, ohjelly.app. It is made by Jirazo Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal data described here.
Oh Jelly is independent and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Jellycat.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist
- Your email address.
- Which sign-up box you used, the page that sent you to us, and, if you came from one of our links, the tag on that link (for example “x” or “poll”).
- Your country, which our host works out from your connection. We don’t store your IP address.
When you visit from one of our links
If you open ohjelly.app from a tagged link, the page records the link’s tag, your country and the page that sent you, once per visit. It doesn’t set cookies or record your IP address.
When you sign in to the app
You sign in with Apple or Google. They give us a user ID, your email address, and your name if you choose to share it. If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we only see the relay address Apple creates. We never see your Apple or Google password.
When you use the app
- Photos you scan or import. We send them to our servers and AI providers to work out which plush is in the picture and its likely size, and we keep them with your account so they stay on your shelf.
- Your shelf and wishlist. The plush you add, with any sizes and notes you give them. These are kept on your device and with your account.
- Corrections. If you tell us a match was wrong, we use the photo and your correction to make matching better.
- Purchases. If you buy Pro, Apple, Google or Stripe handles the payment. We get your plan, its status and renewal dates. We never see your card details.
- Usage data. How you use the app: the screens you open and the things you do, such as signing in, scanning, adding to your shelf, running a check or opening the Pro page, plus your answers to the welcome questions (never your name). It also includes the app version, your device type and operating system, a random ID for your device, your approximate location (country and city, worked out from your connection), and error details when something breaks. It’s linked to your account ID, not to your name or email. Everyone who uses the app shares usage data; there’s no setting to turn it off. In the web app, it uses a cookie and your browser’s storage to recognise your device between visits.
We don’t collect your contacts, precise location or browsing history, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it, and why we’re allowed to
| What we do | Legal basis (UK and EU) |
|---|---|
| Run your account, name the plush in your photos, keep your shelf, and provide Pro | To provide the service you asked for (contract) |
| Email you about the launch when you join the waitlist | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Count which of our links bring people to the site | Our legitimate interest in knowing what works, with no IP addresses or cookies |
| Improve matching using corrections you send | Our legitimate interest in making the app more accurate |
| Understand how the app is used, find where people get stuck, and fix crashes (usage data) | Our legitimate interest in making Oh Jelly easier to use and more reliable |
| Keep Oh Jelly secure, stop abuse, and fix bugs | Our legitimate interest in a safe, working service |
| Keep purchase and tax records | Legal obligation |
We don’t use your photos or data for advertising, and we don’t sell them.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of companies to run Oh Jelly. They act on our instructions and may only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and our databases, and protects them from attacks. It handles your IP address to deliver the site.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts on this website, so Google sees your IP address when the page loads.
- Apple and Google handle sign-in, app downloads and in-app purchases.
- OpenRouter passes the photos you scan to the AI models that identify them (currently Google’s Gemini and Alibaba’s Qwen models). The photo is used to answer that one request.
- RevenueCat and Stripe manage Pro subscriptions. Stripe takes card payments on the web.
- PostHog stores usage data and error reports for us, on servers in the EU. It uses your IP address to work out your approximate location.
We may also share data if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy would still apply to your data.
Some of these companies are in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where UK or EU law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist emails: until we’ve told you about the launch, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
- Your account and shelf: for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete them within 30 days.
- Photos: with your account, so they stay on your shelf, until you delete them or your account. We remove deleted photos from our servers within 30 days. Copies saved on your device stay there until you remove them or delete the app.
- Link visit counts: up to two years.
- Usage data: up to one year, then it’s deleted automatically.
- Purchase records: as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that’s wrong;
- delete your data or your account;
- send your data to you in a format you can reuse (you can also export your shelf as a CSV from the app);
- stop using your data for a purpose you object to, or withdraw your consent.
Usage data: everyone who uses the app shares it, and there’s no setting to turn it off. If you object to it, email us and we’ll delete the usage data linked to your account.
Email us at hello@ohjelly.app and we’ll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm it’s you first. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
UK and EU: you can also complain to your data protection regulator. In the UK that’s the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). We’d like the chance to put things right first, so please contact us.
California and other US states: we don’t sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those laws define it.
Children
Oh Jelly is made for collectors aged 13 and over, and it isn’t aimed at children. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you think a child has given us their data, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
